Costa Rica is a well-known touristic spot, located in Central America with a prolific Pacific Coast which is a surfer’s dream as it counts with hundreds of breaking points and consistent swell.  No wonder the culture of surfing pulsates deeply in the veins of Ticos and attracts surfing enthusiasts world-wide.

This year, the INS ISA World Surfing Games Costa Rica will be hosted in one of the most well-known surfing towns in Costa Rica, Jacó Beach. From the 6th to the 14th of August the legendary surfing town will be the home of over 300 athletes representing over 40 countries.

The representatives of the International Surfing Association, judges, production staff and the National Team will be staying at the hotel Best Western Jacó Beach which counts with an impressive long-standing history of great service, an all-inclusive system and unparalleled location.  The Best Western Jacó  is amongst the 5 selected hotels for the biggest event in surfing of the year,  other hotels wherein participants will be staying include: Océano, Amapola, Morgan’s Cove and Terrazas del Pacífico.

It is expected that just in front of the Best Western Jacó hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts will gather around to take part in this one-of-a-kind competition where Ticos will flock to support the National Dream Team.

Randall Chaves, President of the Surfing Federation of Costa Rica has expressed his gratitude towards the organization of the event along with the support of Best Western Jacó which will be receiving an important community of athletes and enthusiasts. The magnanimity of hosting the 2016 INS ISA World Surfing Games Costa Rica in Jacó, Garabito is foreseen to become a milestone in the history of Costa Rican sports.

Costa Rica is currently on the rise and receiving recognition in the world of Surfing as a new generation of surfers have charmed their way to tame waves.  Just take a brief look at the star-studded Dream Team that won the 2015 World Surfing Games and you will see that they all have an innate talent that is difficult to describe, almost as if they were born riding a wave…that  Each one of them come from a beach setting with breath-taking waves and a background of professional coaching and for some an inherited passion for the sport.  These impressive young athletes are the ones that will be representing Costa Rica in August with the hope of keeping a well-deserved title.
